Brief Biography of Shaykh Dr. Ayman bin Su’ūd bin ‘Abdul ‘Azīz al ‘Anqarī
He and his family originate from Najd and belong to a well-known lineage. His great-grandfather, Ibrāhīm al ‘Anqarī, served as governor of one of the towns of Najd and was a supporter of the blessed Salafī Da’wah.
Shaykh Ayman al ‘Anqarī (may Allah have preserved him him) said:
“My family, al ‘Anqarī family, traces its lineage to Banī Sa‘d from the tribe of Banī Tamīm, from the town of Tharmadā, one of the towns of the al Washm region in Najd. Tharmadā was the regional center of the towns of the al Washm region before the First Saudi State. And its leader was my grandfather, Ibrāhīm bin Sulaymān al ‘Anqarī, who pledged allegiance in hearing and obedience to Imām ‘Abdul ‘Azīz bin Muhammad Su’ūd and Muhammad bin ‘Abdul Wahhāb in the year 1180 A.H.”
The Shaykh himself was born in the year 1397 A.H. in Riyadh, where he attended school. He later pursued his studies at Imām Muhammad bin Su’ūd Islāmic University, finishing his PhD dissertation in the year 1434-1435 A.H in the Faculty of Usūl al Dīn (Foundations of the Religion).
The Shaykh’s dissertation is titled:
“الآراء العقدية في مؤلفات جماعة الإخوان المسلمين عرض ودراسة في ضوء عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة”
“The Creedal Views in the Writings of the Muslim Brotherhood: A Presentation and Study in Light of the Creed of Ahlul Sunnah wa al Jamā’ah”
(Academic Year: 1434–1435 A.H.)
It is four volumes and over 2,500 pages.
Shaykh Ayman al ‘Anqarī (may Allah preserve him) states:
“Our Shaykh the supervisor, ‘Abdul ‘Azīz al Rājihī described the dissertation as a complete encyclopedia about the Ikhwān group.”
The Shaykh is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Creed and Contemporary Schools of Thought at Imām Muhammad bin Su’ūd Islāmic University.
